Install

Open the DMG and move FerMatter to Applications, or use Homebrew:

Rendering tools

Install LaTeX or Typst to render equations and drawings.

Update

Replace FerMatter in Applications with the newer download, or update Homebrew:

brew upgrade --cask fermatter/tap/fermatter

Install

Install the EXE, then open FerMatter from the Start menu. WebView2 runtime setup is included.

Rendering tools

Install Typst or LaTeX, then reopen FerMatter.

Typst

Run in PowerShell:

winget install --exact --id Typst.Typst

LaTeX

Install TeX Live or TinyTeX and Poppler:

winget install --exact --id oschwartz10612.Poppler

Additional packages for TinyTeX

Reopen PowerShell after installing TeX, then run:

tlmgr update --self
tlmgr install latexmk pdfcrop preview pgf mathtools tools cm-super standalone xcolor amsmath amsfonts grfext synctex

Update

Quit FerMatter from its tray menu and run the newer installer. Projects and settings are preserved.
